Mary Crescenzo

of Peekskill, NY. is a published writer, playwright, poet, vocal coach, and arts facilitator for older adults.  She is a playwright of the social drama Planet A, a play about those who have Alzheimer’s and the caregivers in their lives.  It has been performed on various stages in the US, including the NYC International Fringe Festival. She is a founding member of, and lecturer and curricula developer for Lifetime Arts, a non profit organization providing quality and sustainable arts programs for well adults. Ms. Cocke is also the founder of “An ABC Approach to Alzheimer’s Awareness and Care Through the Arts.”  This three-pronged program:

  • Trains professional and personal caregivers to use watercolor, music and movement with those with Alzheimer’s.
  • Offers the play, Planet A (previously titled Piece of Mind) for stage production as an awareness project for the community.
  • Facilitates creative writing workshops for caregivers as a coping strategy for health professionals, and professional and personal caregivers.
