She holds an L.L.B. From the University of Texas, and a B.A. In History from Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Her professional experience, in addition to private practice, includes being a legislative consultant to the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, Assistant General Counsel of the U.S. Information Agency in Washington, D,C., the Corporate Division of the Texas Secretary of State’s Office,Attorney for the Texas  Consumer Credit Commission, Briefing Attorney for Justice Zollie Steakley and Jack Pope, Texas Supreme Court, and counsel to the Commissioners of the Texas Employment Commission.  Former member of the Texas Association of Defense Counsel,faculty member Intensive Trial Advocacy Program, University. of Texas School of Law,admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Western Division, and Life Member f the Texas Bar Foundation.

Community activities include being Treasurer and Chair of Humanities Texas Board; Member Advisory Councils of the Annette Strauss Institute, the Briscoe Center for American History,and the School of Undergraduate Studies at the University of Texas; founding Board member, former President and Chair, Austin Lyric Opera,; Member, The Long Center Performing Arts Center Board; Board member, St. David’s Community Health Foundation, former general counsel, Women’s Symphony League;  Chair of the  Docent Committee of the Friends of the Governor’s Mansion; Advisory Council Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center; member Commission of 125, the University of Texas at Austin

Retired Attorney, though still licensed.  She has 6 Children, 12 Grandchildren, and 3 Great Grandchildren.  Married to George Christian, Deceased.
